Our device can generate four times the power of competing "horizontal axis" machines in any given water depth. Another way of looking at this is that we can generate the same power in shallow water that others can do in deep water. In fact, we can generate the same power in only half the water depth of competitors.

This allows us to deploy our devices at commercial scale (1MW plus) in water as shallow as 20m. Working in shallow water is easier - installation and maintenance are simpler, the environment is less challenging, and connection to the grid is less complex. This is why we believe that Pulse Tidal offers a common-sense approach to tidal power development, starting where it is easy and then moving into more challenging environments later, as our experience grows.
